U.S. Experts Have High Expectations on Hu's Visit

Besides political and military exchanges, the China-U.S. commercial relationship has also seen steady growth in recent years.

China and the U.S. are each other's second largest trade partner. Bilateral trade volume topped $380 billion last year.

According to the head of the U.S.-China Business Council, political exchanges, such as President Hu Jintao's coming visit to the U.S., will also help boost bilateral trade.

"And I think it will be very useful if President Hu and President Obama make a clear statement as to this relationship economically commercially is vital to each other's own economic health," said John Frisbie, head of U.S.-China Business Council. "And we need to do the hard work to make sure each side maintain its open trade and investment environment. That will be a very useful statement in my view."
