CPPCC Prepares for Annual Session

Standing Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee met in Beijing Tuesday to prepare for the first session of the new CPPCC National Committee.

In its four-day meeting that started Tuesday, the Standing Committee of the 11th CPPCC National Committee will deliberate and adopt a decision to hold the 12th CPPCC National Committee's first session.

They will discuss and decide the quota and name list of the members of the 12th CPPCC National Committee.

The committee will deliberate and vote on the work report of the Standing Committee of the 11th CPPCC National Committee and the report on the work of proposal, which are to be submitted at the annual session.

They will also discuss and vote on the draft timetable and agenda of the upcoming annual session.

The committee was briefed about the drafting of the draft work report of the Standing Committee of the 11th CPPCC National Committee and the draft report on its work of proposal.

Jia Qinglin, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, presided over the opening meeting.

The first annual session of the 12th CPPCC National Committee is expected to be convened in March, 2013.
