China Plays Leading Role at BRICS Summit: Official
Share

Liu Guijin, former special envoy of Chinese Government on African Affairs, shares his view on the fifth BRICS summit held in Durban, south Africa, on March 26-27.

It is the first time for the BRICS nations, namely Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, to hold their leaders' meeting on the continent of Africa.

Q1: What do you think BRICS mean to developing countries on the world stage at large? Will it serve as a balancing power to the developed countries?

Q2: China has the largest economy among the five BRICS countries. Is China in a leading position in the BRICS?
