The first government subsidized cultural season has just begun on Tuesday, and it covers about a thousand performances of various types.

To stimulate cultural consumption among citizens, one million "Beijing Culture Easy" cards are to be given away. These cards can be used in venues like theaters, libraries and museums. Citizens can get the cards through official websites, in communities or on campuses starting from mid September.

During the Beijing Autumn Theater Season, audiences get to choose from 52 performances, ranging from drama, dance and Peking opera. A mobile screening team will also bring the latest cinema hits to migrant workers.
