China Vows Ecological Protection: Communique
Share

The Communist Party of China (CPC) has vowed to establish a sound system to protect the country's ecological environment, according to a communique released after a key session about reform.

"In constructing eco-civilization, it is imperative to build a sound system and to protect the ecological environment through the system," said the communique released Tuesday.

The system concerning property rights of natural resources as assets and the administration of their use should be improved," said the communique, released after the Third Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee, which closed in Beijing Tuesday.

The document urged drawing a "red line" for ecological protection, implementing a system of paid use of resources and ecological compensation, and reforming the system for the protection and administration of ecological environment.
