Share

The Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress (NPC) will convene its bimonthly meeting from February 25 to 27, to prepare for the annual congress session next month.

According to a decision at Monday's meeting of the chair and vice chairs of the committee, the upcoming standing committee meeting will review a report on the committee's work to be submitted to the annual congress session. Monday's meeting was presided over by NPC Standing Committee Chair Zhang Dejiang.

During the standing committee meeting in February, the committee will review a draft schedule and a draft list of the presidium for the annual congress session in March, among other preparations.

Legislators will also deliberate an amendment to the Production Safety Law and discuss a number of appointments and dismissals.

The annual NPC session will begin on March 5.
