Share

Presidium of the second session of the 12th National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislature, held its second meeting Sunday.

Zhang Dejiang, chairman of the NPC Standing Committee and one of executive chairpersons of the presidium, presided over the meeting.

The presidium voted to put the following documents for discussion by NPC deputies.

-- draft resolution on the government work report;

-- draft resolution on the implementation of the 2013 plan for national economic and social development and draft 2014 plan for national economic and social development;

-- draft resolution on the implementation of the central and local budgets for 2013 and the central and local budgets for 2014.

Most NPC deputies spoke highly of the Central Government's work in 2013 and agreed to its plan for this year while putting forward some suggestions, said a statement issued after the presidium's meeting.

Executive chairpersons of the presidium drafted the resolution on the report based on lawmakers' opinions and a revised version by the State Council, the statement said.

Two special committees of NPC reviewed the national economic and social development plan and the central and local budgets while NPC deputies carefully examined them in the past few days.

The State Council also amended the two documents according to results of the examination and executive chairpersons of the presidium drafted the resolutions about them, the statement said.
