Nanjing, the capital city of east China's Jiangsu Province, is preparing for an important event of this summer Youth Olympics, and a training court ajacent to the Nanjing Olympic Sports Center Stadium staged its first athletic test event over the weekend.
A total of 235 athelets from Nanjing Sports School and Jinling Middle School attended the atheletic tests. They are all amature contestents aged around 16 which is similiar to the atheletes in the real games.
The guiding boards which read 'boys' and 'girls' represent the features of the Youth Games. In addition to the adjusted contesting standards, requests about referees are also made to suit more for the youth, as age below 35 is strictly required among the 235 referees.
All of the referees are professional with half of them having attended either the Beijing Olympics or the Guangzhou Asian Games.
