Press Center Ready for China's Annual Political Sessions
Share

The press center for China's upcoming annual legislative and political consultative sessions opened on Friday.

The annual sessions of the National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislative body, and the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), the top political advisory body, will open on March 5 and March 3, respectively.

Located in the Media Center Hotel in downtown Beijing, the press center will serve all registered correspondents from home and abroad and assist them with their work as it relates to the NPC and CPPCC sessions.

Press conferences will be held there almost on a daily basis, according to Zhong Xuequan, deputy head of the center. Schedules of press conferences will be released on the NPC press center website and on an account on popular social media Wechat.

Over 3,000 reporters have been registered to cover the annual sessions, including more than 1,000 from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and abroad.
