Critically injured quake victims have been airlifted to hospitals in Xining, the capital of Qinghai province, and other larger cities in neighboring provinces.
The People's Liberation Army Fourth Hospital received nearly a hundred and twenty patients on Thursday, with about ninety percent coming from the Tibetan minority. University students who can speak the Tibetan language have been recruited as translators.
Meanwhile, another twenty four injured victims were transferred to Lanzhou, the capital of neighboring Gansu province, on Thursday. Dozens of other critically injured were transported by plane to Huaxi hospital in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province.
