At the end of 2007, the deposit balance denominated in both local and foreign currencies of all financial institutes in Tibet reached 64.336 billion Yuan, up 17.9 percent over the end of 2006. This included 16.013 billion Yuan worth of saving deposits of urban and rural residents, up 13.9 percent. The loan balance denominated in both local and foreign currencies in all financial institutes amounted to 22.383 billion Yuan, up 9.7 percent. The accumulated cash income of the financial institutes added up to 76.635 billion Yuan, up 19.1 percent; the accumulated cash expenditure reached 79.68 billion Yuan, an increase of 18.8 percent; and the amount of the cash withdrawn reached 3.046 billion Yuan, up 301 million Yuan.
In 2007, the premiums received by insurance companies totaled 268 million Yuan, an increase of 37.4 percent. This included 360 million Yuan for property insurance, up 44 percent; 16.93 million Yuan for accident injury insurance, down 8 percent; and 212 million Yuan for motor vehicle insurance, up 33.3 percent. In 2007, the insurance companies paid out 82.87 million Yuan.
