210,000 Apply for Vehicle License Plates in Beijing
Share

The first round of applications for vehicle license plate in Beijing has concluded. More than 210,000 individuals are competing for a quota of only 20,000 under the new lottery system.

Applicants who pass the verification will be able to try their luck in the first draw on January 26, which will be open to the public. Those rejected will automatically go to next round. Applications for the quota for the next month have started and end on February 8.

The lottery system is one of the latest measures introduced to tackle the capital's growing traffic congestion.
