Boosting economic ties is a top priority in President Morsi's visit to China. Egypt is hoping for more Chinese investment in its infrastructure, tourism and real estate sectors in the very near future. Osama Saleh, Chairman of Egypt's General Authority for Free Trade Zones and Investment, made the remarks on August 29 while attending the two-day China-Egypt Economic and Trade Forum in Beijing.
The investment official also said the new government aims to strengthen investment in energy, water resources, roads, logistics, medicine and real estate. Saleh said Egypt is currently analysing new projects, including the construction of a 440-km highway, an airport and a sea port to upgrade the country's logistics services. He also said the Egyptian Government is looking to simplify foreign investment management.
