Premier Wen Arrives for 15th China-EU Summit

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao has arrived in Brussels to attend the 15th China-EU Summit, and pay an official visit to Belgium.

In a written statement released on his arrival, Wen said China and the European Union (EU) have forged one of the most influential bilateral relationships in the world, since establishing a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2003.

Wen highlighted unprecedented development opportunities for both sides, as the international situation undergoes profound changes. The premier also noted that China attaches great importance to China-Belgium relations, and regards Belgium as an important partner in the EU. He said China and Belgium have achieved great progress in various fields, including politics, economy, trade and culture.
