China's GDP grew 7.8 percent in 2012, 0.3 percent higher than the original target. And the consensus among economists is that despite challenges ahead, the Chinese economy is likely to grow at its potential level of around 8 percent for 2013.

Professor Zhang Haiyun, from the Finance Department of the University of International Business and Economics, shares his view on how to boost domestic demand and what major challenges are facing the Chinese economy.
