Cold Snap Aggravates Sea Ice Threat
Share

A cold snap is aggravating the ice threat in northern China's Bohai Sea. The worsening situation has affected thousands of people, and caused huge economic losses.

Statistics from the North China Sea Branch of the State Oceanic Administration show the outer edge of the ice sheets in the Liaodong Bay extending to 82 nautical miles.

The economic losses in Liaoning Province are estimated to be reaching two billion yuan.

Experts warn that sea ice in Liaodong Bay will spread out to between 85 and 95 nautical miles over the next two days.
