Beijing's municipal education authority announced the dates when schools in the capital city will start their autumn semester on August 9.

Senior high schools in Beijing will start the new semester on August 29, while primary schools and junior high schools will start their new school year on three dates -- August 29, September 1 and September 7, according to a notice issued by the municipal leading group office for epidemic prevention and control.

Kindergartens in Beijing are to reopen on September 8 and September 11, said the notice.

Colleges in Beijing can decide their own time for students to check in or register starting from August 15 after getting approval from the epidemic prevention and control leading group and education authorities.
