Enforcing Sino-Mexican Educational Cooperation

Forty Chinese students will travel to Mexico to begin their Spanish, Mexican culture and postgraduate studies in different universities of the country as a result of the Scholarship Bilateral Program Agreement between Mexico and China, according to the Mexican Embassy in Beijing.

Mexican Ambassador Julian Ventura met with the group of scholars before their trip. He stressed the importance of academic exchange in the enforcement of relations between Mexico and China, encouraging them to make the best of this experience and wishing them great success in their respective programs.

Mexico and China have a Scholarship Bilateral Program, which serves to send 40 Chinese students to Mexico and 40 Mexican students to China on a yearly basis, to study language, graduate and/or postgraduate studies. During the 2015-2016 school year, four Chinese students will attend postgraduate courses, while 36 will be attending Spanish and Mexican culture courses, among others.

Enforcing educational cooperation is a priority for both governments in their Integral Strategic Alliance established during Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to Mexico in June 2013.
