Two Vice Mayors of Shanghai Leave Posts

Yan Junqi and Zhou Yupeng, two vice mayors of Shanghai have left their posts, the standing committee of the Shanghai municipal people's congress announced Tuesday.

Vice mayor Yan, 61, has been working in Beijing as vice chairwoman of the central committee of the China Association for Promoting Democracy. She was elected to the post in 2002.

Yan had been responsible for technology, education and intellectual property work in the Shanghai municipal government.

Zhou Yupeng, 60, will act as vice director of the standing committee of the municipal people's congress, which he was elected to earlier this month. As vice mayor his responsibilities included city development, statistics, trade and investment in Shanghai.
