The release date of the Chinese movie Buddha Mountain (Guan Yin Shan) will be March 4. The announcement was made by director Li Yu and lead actors Fan Bingbing and Berlin Chen at a press conference in Beijing on January 20, Mtime.com reports.

Four posters and a 30-second trailer were released during the event.

Actress Fan Bingbing plays a rock singer, who fails her college entrance exam and has to sing in bars for a living. The role helped Fan win a best actress award at the 23rd Tokyo Film Festival last year.

Fan praised her second collaboration with director Li Yu. She said the film helped her develop a new way of acting.

"During the time we shot the film, I felt I was not myself anymore; I was the rock singer Nan Feng," she said. "Only in Li's film, I can challenge such roles as bar singer or massage girl."
