The 36th Montreal World Film Festival will raise its curtains on August 23, and the organizing committee has announced that Chinese actor Wang Xueqi would be on the jury.

Other jurors include Italian-Australian actress Greta Scacchi, the jury president; Kim Dong-ho, a founding member of the Busan International Film Festival; French filmmaker Véra Belmont; Russian film critic Andrei Plakhov; Spanish actress Goya Toledo; and Canadian star Michel Coté.

Founded in 1977, the Montreal World Film Festival is one of Canada's oldest international film festivals.

This year the festival will run from August 23 to September 3.
