Despite China's veto on the Syria resolution, Chinese representive Li Baodong to the UN said that China has urged order to be restored quickly in Syria, and supported the efforts made by the Arab League. The country hopes that an all-inclusive, Syrian-lead political process will start soon through peaceful dialogue.

Li Baodong, China's permanent representative to UN, said, "The International Community should provide constructive help to achieve a peaceful Syrian-led political process, and at the same time respect its soverignty, territorial integraty, and independence. The action made by the UN Security Council should be in accordance with the UN charter. It should help ease the tension, promote political dialogue, solve conflict, and safeguard the stability of middle east region, instead of making things complicated."
