A large cultural and entertainment display has been held at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Center. It is part of the celebrations for the 15th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland.

President Hu Jintao and Hong Kong officials and dignitaries attended the gala. Dance, drama, classical and pop music performances showcase Hong Kong's achievements, and reflect the diversity and vibrancy of the city. On July 1, a grand flag-raising ceremony will be held at Golden Bauhinia Square outside the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Center.

Government helicopters will circle Victoria Harbour in the morning and afternoon, displaying both the national and regional flags. President Hu will also attend the swearing-in of the new government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
