The 4th International Festival of Intangible Cultural Heritage has opened in Chengdu, capital of southwest China's Sichuan Province.
At the opening ceremony on June 15, various stage performances and a grand parade were held. Under the theme of Inheritance and Dream, this year's festival runs from June 16- 23 and has attracted delegations from over 100 countries and regions.
Events next week will include displays of intangible cultural heritage, international forums and Chinese traditional opera performances. A special event of this year is the China Arts and Crafts Fair, with porcelain, jade, paintings, embroidery and other treasures on show.
The biennial festival was established in Chengdu in 2007, to build a cultural and commercial exchange platform for countries across the world.
