China and Russia completed the live-fire section of their "Joint Sea-2013" drill on Wednesday in Peter the Great Bay off the Sea of Japan.

Warships took part in various exercises, including joint search and rescue, gunfire and firing submarine rockets. Thirteen ships, five carrier-based helicopters and Special Forces from both countries attended a 40-minute parade.

The Chinese ships arrived in Russia's Far East port of Vladivostok on July 5. The eight-day maneuvers focused on maritime air defense, escorts and marine search and rescue operations.

China and Russia have held regular joint naval drills since 2005, under the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
