Canadian Solar was founded in Ontario, Canada in 2001 and was listed on NASDAQ Exchange in 2006.

Scale: Seven wholly-owned manufacturing subsidiaries in China with a total combined facility space of over to 260,000 sqm and a module capacity of 2.3 gigawatts

Total shipments: Around 1,543 megawatts in 2012

Global strategy: Canadian Solar operates in 10 countries: Canada, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Spain, Australia, the United States, Singapore and China
