The strategic partnership between the People's Republic of China and the Federal Republic of Nigeria maintained sound and smooth development in 2010.
Economic cooperation and trade between the two countries grew steadily. As part of the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, the four rural schools China built for Nigeria were all completed, and the hospital project progressed smoothly.
Following the tripartite agreement signed by the Chinese Government, the UN Food and Agriculture Organization and the Nigerian Government under the "Special Program for Food Security," 55 Chinese agricultural experts and technicians had arrived in Nigeria and started working.
The production or mining of the oil field with Chinese investment went on smoothly. The Chinese company Star Times and the Nigerian Television Authority started cooperation in promoting digital TV programs.
Bilateral exchanges and cooperation in culture and education strengthened. Programs of CCTV 4 and CCTV News became available in Nigeria. Director of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage Shan Jixiang visited Nigeria. Vice Minister of Education Hao Ping attended the UNESCO Eighth E-9 Ministerial Review Meeting. Under the 20+20 Sino-African Universities Cooperation Program, Suzhou University and the University of Lagos formed a cooperation partnership.
