Kenya Says Chinese Premier's Visit to Cement Cooperation Partnership
Share

Kenya's Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday an upcoming visit by Chinese Premier Li Keqiang will cement the comprehensive cooperation partnership between the two countries.

The visit will allow the two countries to "further explore ways to strengthen cooperation in trade, investment, infrastructure development, energy, finance, agriculture, aviation, space technology, information and communication," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

During his stay in Kenya, Li is scheduled to meet with Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto, said the statement.

The Chinese premier's visit provides an opportunity to review the implementation of outcomes of August 2013 successful state visit to China by Kenyatta, his first state visit since inauguration as president four months earlier, it said.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday Li will pay official visits to Ethiopia, Nigeria, Angola and Kenya from May 4 to 11.

This is the first time for Li to visit Africa since taking office in 2013.
