Share

The Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, has concluded his four-nation tour of Africa. On his last day of the visit, the Premier paid a visit to the China Central Television, Africa Bureau Headquarters in Nairobi.

After being welcomed by senior officials for CCTV Africa, Li was taken around the building housing the television station visiting several departments. Along the way, he met the staff of CCTV Africa who explained to the Premier what their work is all about.

He was then taken into the station's broadcasting studio where among other activities he held an in-depth discussion with CCTV Africa's Senior Anchor Beatrice Marshall.

Premier Li's visit marks an historical one. China Central Television's Africa Bureau was opened in 2011 focusing on Africa current affairs. With over 90 employees the majority of whom are from Africa. The channel has several other studios spread across the continent making it one of Africa's leading media organisations.
