The National Committee of the CPPCC - the country's top political advisory body, started its annual full session today. Committee chairman Yu Zhengsheng, delivered a work report at the Great Hall of the People.
And on March 5, the 12th National People´s Congress will officially open its session. Premier Li Keqiang is scheduled to deliver an annual government work report, his second one to some 3,000 NPC deputies.
On March 8, China's top legislator Zhang Dejiang will deliver a work report of the Standing Committee of the NPC. On the same day Foreign Minister Wang Yi will hold a press briefing, addressing questions over China´s foreign policy and foreign relations.
On March 10, the NPC is to review a draft amendment to China's Legislation Law, which regulates the process of creating national laws, government regulations and local laws, and defines legislative powers.
On March 12, China's chief justice Zhou Qiang, and Procurator-General Cao Jianming - who heads the national agency responsible for prosecution and investigation - will each present their work report to the NPC.
The CPPCC will conclude its annual session on March 13, and Chairman Yu Zhengsheng, will preside over the closing meeting and deliver a closing speech.
And then on March 15, the NPC too will wrap up with its closing session. After which, Premier Li Keqing will meet the press and answer questions from both domestic and overseas media.
