As one of the performers of the song named Sunshine of Love, Liang Lili, a singer from a disabled persons' art troupe in Beijing could not help showing her excitement when delivering a speech at a press conference on May 8 when the song was officially released. Created by the Chinese singer Guo Feng for people with disabilities, the song will be promoted across China and a music video is set to be released on May 19 this year, the 29th National Day for Helping the Disabled.

"The lyrics of the song have greatly motivated me," Liang said, quoting the words saying that "The sunshine of love has lightened my heart and given me the courage to weather storms."

The recording of the song was organized by the China Foundation for Disabled Persons and the China Commission of Promotion of Publicity for the Undertakings of Chinese Disabled Persons. In the music video, 100 stars from the entertainment industry and 40 actors from disabled persons' art troupes perform to show their support for the cause.

The theme of the National Day for Helping the Disabled this year is to help people with disabilities shake off poverty and participate in social activities with equal rights. According to official data, China still saw over 85 million people with disabilities by the end of 2018. As the government launches preferential policies to support them, members of the group are also exploring ways to live in a self-reliant manner along with the rise of new technologies and business modes such as e-commerce, with some of them already gaining initial fruits. Wen Qingjun, a farmer with disability in Anhui Province made profits of nearly 50,000 yuan ($7381.6) through e-commerce in 2017, shaking off poverty with his own efforts.

The song delivers concerns for people with disabilities and presents their praiseworthy spirits of living optimistically and pursing their dreams persistently, Guo Liqun, a publicity official with the China Disabled Persons' Federation said.

The press conference introduces that the song will be further publicized to improve its influence, with an aim of raising social awareness of caring for disabled persons. As Guo Liqun added, the release of the song will further improve people's understandings of disabled persons' conditions and effectively help the group eliminate poverty to better achieve the goal of building a moderately prosperous society.
