Efforts should be made to continuously promote understanding and build consensus to contribute wisdom and strength to the mutual learning and win-win relationship between China and the world, a senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official said on September 10.
Huang Kunming, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, made the remark when delivering a keynote speech at the opening ceremony at the Eighth World Forum on China Studies.
China has provided a strong driving force to the development of the world economy and contributed Chinese wisdom to the people of all countries in pursuing a better life, said Huang, noting that China has continued its efforts to safeguard world peace, contribute to global development and uphold international order.
The world is facing unprecedented changes, and humanity is facing common risks and challenges, said Huang, who insisted that between civilizations, misunderstandings should be transcended by exchange, conflicts should be transcended by mutual learning and exceptionalism should be transcended by coexistence. He also called for building platforms for more exchanges as well as carrying out dialogues for more equality and mutual trust.
Li Qiang, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, attended the forum and made remarks.
Themed "China and the World: Progressing Together over 70 Years," the forum this year has attracted more than 300 scholars from 35 countries and international organizations.
