China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism has drafted a regulation on online tourist services and started soliciting public opinions in a bid to better regulate the booming sector.

The five-chapter regulation includes stipulations on the qualifications, operations and legal responsibilities of service providers, as well as how their work will be supervised.

The regulation aims to address some of the prominent problems of the industry, such as irregular pricing of tourist products and misleading advertising, which infringe on tourists' rights.

The public can submit their opinions before November 10, said the ministry in a statement on its website.

China in recent years has seen rapid development in the tourism industry. The country saw a total of 782 million domestic tourist trips made during the seven-day National Day holiday, which ended on October 7, up 7.81 percent from last year, statistics from the ministry showed.
