December 1 this year marks the 29th World AIDS Day. According to figures released by the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on November 30, there were 654,000 people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) in China by the end of September, while there had been 201,000 deaths since records began. Sexual transmissions accounted for 94 percent of infections. Here is a quick look at the condition of HIV/AIDS in China in recent years.
