Riding the Waves looks at the 70th anniversary of the founding of the PLA Navy and the multinational naval events held to commemorate it. Naval delegations from over 60 countries attended events and 20 warships from over 10 countries participated. The navy is striving to help build world peace, escorting vessels, sending medical help, assisting other countries and participating in search and rescue operations.

To Tie or Not to Tie the Knot analyzes some of the reasons behind China’s declining marriage rate. Despite pressure from parents, many young people are putting off marriage. Reasons include the rising cost of living, not being ready for the responsibility, not wanting to settle down and the pursuit of higher education.

FORUM

Why is China Still a Developing Country? discusses how China is still on the path to becoming a developed country. Although some of China’s big cities are on par with those in developed nations, the urban-rural disparity is still a problem needing more work and the per-capita income is still below the global average.
