(Cover Photo: VCG) COVER STORY Green Revolution looks at Yan'an in Shaanxi Province, which took the lead in implementing a national reforestation project popularly known as "grain for green," to reduce soil erosion and improve the degraded ecosystem in the region. Overexploited fields were allowed to lie fallow and then converted into forests. Today, Yan'an's vegetation coverage has almost doubled from 2000 to 2017. BUSINESS Lining Up gives an update on the Second China International Import Expo (CIIE) to be held on November 5-10 in Shanghai. As part of China's efforts to open up wider to international markets and meet domestic demand for higher quality goods, this year's expo, themed New Era, Shared Future, already has over 3,000 companies from more than 150 countries and regions confirmed. WORLD Double-Strength Bridge looks at the 10th anniversary of an inspiring program that helped young survivors of an 8-magnitude earthquake in Sichuan Province in 2008. The State University of New York in the U.S. provided 150 students from the devastated area with one-year scholarships.
