Animated Dreams looks at the surprise domestic movie sensation of the summer, Ne Zha. The animated film — a tale of a mythical figure adapted from a renowned Chinese novel, Investiture of the Gods — has surpassed popular Hollywood animations and broke the single-day record for an animated film in China. It could pave the way for a more mature industrial system producing China’s animated films.
