An exhibition on Chinese intangible cultural heritage and arts and crafts is underway at the China National Arts and Crafts Museum, also known as China Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum, which is China’s first national-level venue of its kind. No fewer than 1,298 objects are on display, 80 percent of which are making their public debut.

With a total floor area of 91,126 square meters, the museum stands on the northern part of the Central Axis of Beijing. It opened on February 5, the second day of the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022.

The exhibit includes arts and crafts, guqin (Chinese zither), copies of Silk Road murals, inscriptions and seal cuttings, woodblock New Year paintings, traditional musical instruments, opera, and performing arts. It further features ethnic instrument performances and hi-tech devices for visitor interaction.
