The 20th Communist Party of China (CPC) National Congress convened in Beijing from October 16 to 22. At the same time, the Museum of the CPC, which opened to the public in June last year in honor of the Party's centennial, received thousands of visitors every day. The landmark's architecture showcases how the Party has united and guided the Chinese people along ground-breaking paths through permanent exhibitions. The museum conducted its revolutionary cultural relic selection and collection, resulting in 76,934 pieces/sets of revolutionary cultural relics, including historical documents such as the first Chinese-language version of The Communist Manifesto—originally written by German philosophers Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels in 1848. Since the museum's opening, it has welcomed more than one million domestic and overseas visitors. (Text and photos by Wei Yao) Copyedited by Elsbeth van Paridon Comment to taozihui@cicgamericas.com |
