By Bai Shi Navies from 37 countries have wrapped up exercise AMAN-17 with an international fleet review in waters near Karachi, Pakistan, on February 14. Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and military chiefs attended an international fleet review made up of a total of 17 military vessels from nine countries—China, Pakistan, Australia, Indonesia, Russia, Sri Lanka, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States. During the five-day drill, the Pakistan Navy organized various exercises in practice for responding to maritime security threats in a multinational environment. In addition, a number of activities, including sports matches, maritime counter terrorism demos, international cultural displays and the International Maritime Conference were hosted to promote full cooperation between national navies.
