China Confirms Death of Hostage Held by ISIS
China's Foreign Ministry confirms the killing of a Chinese hostage held by the Islamic State and sends condolence to the man's family

Chinese President Xi Jinping strongly condemned the Islamic State (ISIS) for the death of the Chinese hostage, saying that China opposes any form of terrorism. He made the remarks on the sidelines of the 23rd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Leaders' Meeting.

China on Thursday confirmed the death of a Chinese hostage Fan Jinghui who had been held by the ISIS, saying the criminal must be brought to justice.

Fan Jinghui, 50 and a freelance consultant from Beijing, was reportedly captured by the ISIS in September. The group also held a Norwegian man.
