October 24 marks the UN Day. China is one of the founding members of the world body. Chinese President Xi Jinping said China is committed to upholding the international system with the UN at its core in keeping with the principle of achieving shared growth through discussion and collaboration. Xi is also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission.
