Recently, Sarah Lande in the U.S. state of Iowa wrote a letter to Chinese President Xi Jinping, saying Xi's speech in San Francisco at the welcome dinner by friendly organizations last November is widely welcomed and inspiring. She also noted that China's project to invite 50,000 young Americans to China on exchange and study programs in the next five years is encouraging. In his reply on January 4, Xi said the achievements in China-U.S. relations are primarily attributable to the collective efforts of the peoples of the two countries, and the advancement of China-U.S. relations hinges on the two peoples.
