The 13th National People's Congress (NPC), China's national legislature, and the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), the top political advisory body, opened their second sessions on March 5 and March 3, respectively. Lawmakers and political advisors discuss key topics, including raising the standard of living, economic development and environmental protection, at the annual sessions, also known as the Two Sessions.
