Gu Ailing

Gu Ailing, also known as Eileen Gu, won three medals in three events at the X Games Aspen 2021 in Colorado, the United States. It is a never-before-equaled feat by a first-time performer in the history of the extreme sports event hosted by U.S. sports broadcaster ESPN.

The 17-year-old started her 24-hour medal-winning spree with a bronze in the women's ski big air competition, then followed it up with a gold at the superslope and a second gold in ski superpipe.

Gu, born in California, now competes for China.

In 2019, Gu, whose mother is Chinese and father American, made the call to compete for China. Reports say she is preparing for gold at the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Beijing 2022. Beijing is her mother's hometown.
