We, think tanks, media, universities, publishing houses, international organizations, and local governments in China and LAC (Latin America and the Caribbean) countries, jointly held the 4th Dialogue Between the Civilizations of China and the LAC on 22-23 October 2021, in a hybrid form of online and offline events, to plan for exchanges and mutual learning to foster a new type of China-LAC partnership.   

We believe that exchanges and mutual learning between civilizations represent an important driving force for human civilization and peaceful global development. Carrying out this dialogue between China and LAC countries and enhancing mutual understanding and mutual learning is our common aspiration. 

We aim to strengthen friendly exchanges between local governments, promote mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields, and leverage the Institute for China-LAC People-to-People Exchange (Jiangsu) as a platform to carry out a variety of exchange and mutual learning events. 

We welcome the intention to enrich the scope of the dialogue, involve more participants, and work together to build a cooperative network around the Dialogue Between the Civilizations of China and the LAC. 

We seek to promote mechanism building related to the Dialogue Between the Civilizations of China and the LAC and explore the possibility of holding the Dialogue in the LAC countries when appropriate. 

We propose building a platform for knowledge exchange and cooperation between China and LAC countries in the spirit of extensive consultation, joint contribution, and shared benefits, to share knowledge, break information barriers, and enhance mutual understanding and trust to foster common development. 

We support strengthening the China research network in LAC countries and the LAC research network in China, and support joint research and joint publication to build a China-LAC academic community of shared future. 

We hope that building on the platform provided by this Dialogue will continue to promote exchanges and share development experience, making the civilizations of China and LAC fine examples of harmonious coexistence and mutual enhancing between civilizations.
