The Longhushan UNESCO Global Geopark in Jiangxi Province is famous for its Danxia landforms and Taoist culture. In August 2010, the UNESCO World Heritage Committee listed the park’s mountains, including Longhushan in Yingtan City and Guifeng in Shangrao City, on the World Heritage List under the heading China Danxia, along with five other sites.

Formed by weathering and erosion, China Danxia is characterized by spectacular red cliffs, pillars, ravines and waterfalls. The landscapes have helped preserve subtropical broad-leafed evergreen forests, which are home to more than 400 rare or threatened species.
