Two highlights of the Eighth China International Import Expo, held in Shanghai from November 5 to 10, were the introduction of a dedicated zone for products from the least developed countries and the expansion of the zone for African products. The former offered free exhibition spaces, while the latter allowed many new African products to enter China for the first time. Initiatives such as these are part of China's plan to ensure South-South cooperation permeates all aspects of its international relations and trade.
