President of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach visited the Beijing Olympic Museum on February 20. After the tour, he said, "It's great to be back here in the Olympic Museum and to revive so many fond memories of Beijing 2022 and also Beijing 2008. These were two truly exceptional Olympic Games China offered to the world."
The Beijing Olympic Museum is located in the heart of Beijing Olympic Park, just south of the iconic National Stadium, known as the "Bird's Nest." The museum's main hall features 1,394 exhibits, along with an extensive collection of pictures and videos. It highlights China's endeavors to bid for, prepare for and host both the 2008 Olympic Summer Games and the 2022 Olympic Winter Games.
Bach pointed out that the Beijing Olympic Museum is not only a place to preserve Olympic heritage, but also an interactive space that can awaken the Olympic spirit.
He wrote in the museum's guestbook: "Thank you very much to the Beijing Olympic Museum for keeping the Olympic Spirit alive and inspiring all generations of Chinese people."
