A rock concert for kids took to the stage of a theater nestled in a hutong, a narrow alleyway in the traditional residential areas of Beijing, on March 18.

Chinese and British performers put on a musical extravaganza that had children stomping their feet, shaking their heads and rocking out to the music.

British actor and musician Dan Taylor, the leader of this rocking pack, is also the musical director of You Rock School, an initiative that introduces children to rock 'n' roll and the event's organizer.

As the guitar riffs finally ebbed out, the young audience had only one thing left to say: Encore!
